A) What is a podcast?

A podcast is a recorded digital audio/video show which can be subscribed to for automatic updates as they are generated via the podcast’s RSS feed. ( RSS Feed )

B) What is the Krimson News Podcast?

A series of interviews with artists from the world of King Crimson and Guitar Craft. Interviewers typically include:

Jeff Duke Jr. - Webmaster for Krimson News
Barry Stock - Moderator of the former KN Guestbook
Steve Turnidge - Owner of Arsdivina studios and founder of WeedShare.com
Sid Smith - King Crimson biographer, and writer and website manager for DGMLive.com.
Nadim Haque - Krimson News Engineer

C) Do I need an iPod, (or any other portable MP3 player), to listen?

No! You can download and listen to the podcast via your computer using your favorite free MP3 player such as WinAmp or Windows Media Player.

D) How do I listen?

There are several listening methods available to you which are listed below.

First, a popular method is to make use of one of the following recommended software such as iTunes or an RSS feed reader which support downloading of podcasts:

iTunes - Windows/Mac
(Search for Krimson in the Podcast section.)
NewsGator - Windows/Mac
(Once you’ve signed up, you can download FeedStation for Windows or NetNewsWire Lite for Mac, both free.)
Juice - Windows/Mac
Castpodder - Linux

Using this sort of software will require the RSS Feed link, you can subscribe to the RSS “feed” by clicking on the button to the right: RSS Feed

Play directly through your browser window:
Requirements:
1) A computer.
2) Headphones or speakers hooked up to your computer
3) A flash enabled browser- You may need to install the Flash plugin for your browser if you don’t see the player
4) A broadband connection is recommended, however, if you are patient, the “green” line in the player will eventually fill up, indicating that the file is fully loaded.

Directions:
1) Click on the play button located at the top of the “news entry” for that podcast release. If you don’t see the play button or player, ensure you have Macromedia Flash installed as a plugin in your browser.
2) Alternatively, you can also hit, “Play in Popup”, which will allow you to browse to other sites in your main browser window, and open the player in a smaller pop up. You will need to allow pop ups for this feature to work reliably, if you have a pop up blocker.

Download and play on your computer:
Requirements:
1) A computer
2) Headphones or speakers hooked up to your computer
3) Audio software, any software you can use to play MP3’s will work

Directions:
1) Click on the download link located at the top of the “news entry” for that podcast release.
2) Save to a location you can find it later.
3) Open with your favorite MP3 software or simply double click on the file.

Download and play on your portable MP3 player, (IE: iPod, iRiver, etc):
Requirements:
1) A computer
2) A portable MP3 player, such as an iPod, iRiver, Sansa, or Zen, etc.

Refer to the documentation for your portable audio player for the best way for you to download and listen.
