Pat Mastelotto Audio Interview

Alterati’s Ripple show, in the form of a playable/downloadable audio file interviews Pat Mastelotto regarding all of his latest projects including Tovah, TUNER, KTU, MPTU, TU, and of course, this little band you might have heard of, King Crimson.

In the interview Pat indicates that the current intention for KC at this time is US based residency gigs focusing on existing repertoire and no new material.

Presumably this is to get the band back on the same page after their 3 year hiatus as well as acclimate the new and returning members to life as King Crimson.

If things go well, Pat indicates that a natural progression could follow, who knows?

Trey Gunn and Pat Mastelotto as TU,Ã‚Â are gearing up for yet another date with ToolÃ‚Â with a currently listed showtime of 8PMÃ‚Â on December 4th, 2007 in Everett, WA. at the Everett Events Center.Ã‚Â Since it is Tool, tickets may be scarce at this point, but you can check over HERE to learn more!Ã‚Â At this time, tickets are listed as $58 and $46.

As always, make sure to check with the venue before making travel plans!

Trey Gunn’s Site Gets Makeover

A few days ago we noted, and it’s worthy of reporting that Trey Gunn’s website has gotten a substantial once-over.Ã‚Â Ã‚Â As you can see it’s quite nice, and features an updated storefront along with all of the other particulars you’ve come to expect from Trey, including some recently updated blog entries.

The Media section is so far my favorite.Ã‚Â It features a variety of photos, music and video from Trey’s projects in Quodia, TU, and the Trey Gunn Band among others!

TU Loves Poland, and Poland Loves TU!

TU recently toured Poland and were welcomed with the open ~~arms~~ ears of a hungry audience. Hey, they even made what appears to be, the evening news!

I’m no expert on the Polish language, but most everyone in the video seemed quite happy! However, if any of you has a translation you’d like to approximate, feel free to comment away, I’d love to see an english transcript of what they were saying.

Trey Gunn Gets A Video Blog

This morning I noted a nifty piece of news over at the DGMLive.com website that indicated Trey Gunn has a “Vlog” (Video Blog) which has just started over at Blip.tv.

Blip.tv is a bit like YouTube in that they feature embedded videos.Ã‚Â You can find Trey’s Blip site over at treygunnlive.blip.tv

The inaugural posting there gives some insight into Trey’s current work in TU, where, along with Pat Mastelotto, they apparently recently unleashed the iconic KC song, 21st Century Schizoid Man at a concert in Poland.Ã‚Â During the video, you get to see and hear Trey describe the temporary abode, (hotel room), and sit in awe as he practices some of the tricky bits in 21stCSM.Ã‚Â I never get tired of hearing and seeing his seemingly effortless technique.

Tool & TU Tourdates

Well, at least for two dates next week.

Over at the PlanetCrimson.net forums, penston dropped in the news that Pat Mastelotto and Trey Gunn, as TU, will be opening for Tool for a pair of dates next week.

On May 21st, they’ll be in San Antonio, TX., at the AT&T Center, and then on May 22nd, they’ll be playing the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, TX. (Check with the venue before making any travel plans!)

Good stuff! This will be a great opportunity for Tool fans to get initiated by TU as the “rhythm buddies” open up those shows, and for TU, some great exposure to an otherwise unlikely audience!
