It’s earlier than I had figured, but I’m not going to complain, I’ve been itching for some live KC for quite some time now.
Reported over at the DGMLive.com website Crim’s first date will be opening a three day stint at Park West, Chicago, August 6th, 2008 before storming out to Keswick Theater in Philadelphia for August 11th and 12th, and then wrapping up the current list of dates we have sees them at the Nokia Theater in New York, NY from August 14th-16th.
Keen eye’d people will note that this tour will inaugurate the latest formation of King Crimson which includes a slight shift in personnel as follows:
- Robert Fripp, Adrian Belew, Tony Levin, Pat Mastelotto and Gavin Harrison.
We’ll keep an eye out for further dates as they arrive, but as always, check with the venue in order to confirm dates and times before making travel plans!

The website for the Keswick Theater in Philadelphia does not list Crimson playing there in August. In fact, the dates are listed as a private event…? What’s the deal?
¿Habrá alguna posibilidad de que el grupo acerque su gira a Europa, y más concretamente, a España?
(Google Translation: Is there any possibility that the group approaching his tour of Europe, and more specifically, to Spain?)
The Keswick is selling tickets already. Seems that they are a bit slow on getting their event list/calendar updated.
Crim’s French enthousiasts hope naturally for venues in France !!!!
Just purchased 2 for Tuesday 8/12! Went with Row BB on the side, as center is already Row O (25th row)!
I keep hoping Belew will leave so Crimson can maybe start making listenable music again! Christ, for a guy who couldn’t keep a band together more than two years MAX, this has gone on far too long.
@pexter:
Wow, really? And you still continue to be a fan after 18 years of Belew?
Seems either that you wish that the band would return to something it did before, (unlikely), or that you really don’t have an interest in what they have done in the last 20 years.
Either way I kind of think this is pretty short sighted as an opinion at best, and pretty hateful and insensitive to the artists at worst.
Just my 2 cents…

Pexter-
Wow, I didn’t realise people like you were out there. Belew has been an integral part of the band since 1981. Have you really been waiting that long? IMHO the Fripp- Belew counterpoint is some of the most exciting, adventurous guitar playing out there.
I love Belew’s music. I love Crim’s music.
Strange, but the tickets for Aug 8th at Park West are not on sale!
Weird.
I know that´s impossible, but it would be a dream to see KC in Brazil!!! It´s even more impossible after Fripp´s show with G3 here in são Paulo, when the Brazilian metal fans didn´t understand Mr. Fripp´s soundscapes… well, it´s not for all… I don´t have money to go to the US for watching my favourite band ever… I think I´ll watch the Eyes Wide Open DVD again…
Just one wish: King Crimson in Sicily!
A California date (or several) would be highly welcome. Please don’t forget we left coasters!
PS. I promise to leave my video and still cameras at home. However, I shall be unable to prevent private replay of the show as often as I wish via the natural video recorder built into my own head (my eyes, via optic nerves, to mass storage unit in my cerebrum). I hope this is acceptable practice.
The Keswick is located in Glenside, PA (from where I post this clarification), not Philadelphia. I suggested the Keswick as a possible venue for performers and audience to perform and listen a few years back on a KC forum, and, with the dipping-of-the-toes of P6 into the Keswick pool, it seems the Greater Crim agrees that this venue might invite the band to explore and divulge and the audience to listen and enjoy, thoughtfully, emotionally, quietly. Crim practically in my backyard - joy.
Please come to Mexico please please please!!! KC has come on their respective 2000’s ConstruKction Of Light and 2003’s The Power To Believe tours, so why wouldn’t they do it again? Truth is everything is kind of weird and slow, but I hope at least they do a new record to commemorate 40 yeras of the best music ever! Love Robert Fripp!
I LOVE THIS BAND FOR 25YRS AND MEET FRIPP, BELEW AND LEVIN AS SOLO OR HIRED GUNS!! BOWIE, GABERIEL ETC, WOULD LOVE TO SEE THEM IN ANYWERE IN EURO, WOULD MISS THE HOUSE REPAYMENTS FOR 2 MONTHS HA HA HA.

I wondered if King Crimson had any plans to tour in the UK?
Im flying up to New York to see these guys.
I’m just jealous of you guys.KC almost never comes to Holland…Last time was the North Sea Jazz Festival IIRC.And that’s too damn expensive to see just one act…Wish I’d been there though with all the improvs.Must’ve been cool!
