TU Loves Poland, and Poland Loves TU!

TU recently toured Poland and were welcomed with the open arms ears of a hungry audience. Hey, they even made what appears to be, the evening news!

I’m no expert on the Polish language, but most everyone in the video seemed quite happy! However, if any of you has a translation you’d like to approximate, feel free to comment away, I’d love to see an english transcript of what they were saying.

    thanks for posting that!
    Here is what they say (more or less);

Speaker: Evening news, 4th of october.
Once they’ve been playing in King Crimson, British super group playing progressive rock, today they’ve played in the Center of culture “Andaluzia” in Piekary Slaskie as TU band. The concert of those musicians had place as a part of 16th International Polish Percussion Festival. Pat Mastelotto and Trey Gunn “heated up” the audience exceptionally strong…

Woman’s voice: Power of expression, virtuosity, sound, rhythm, dynamics, power of music of magnetizing artists – as much!

Dude1: This music is for…those who like to listen, really listen to this music…

Dude2; I am a fan of this music and they are my musical idols, the best instrumentalist I know…

Voice: The concert was long awaited. It is clear. At one side outstanding musicians, on the other side audience totally aware of their rank. There were no accidental listeners.

Girl: I am here with my parents, it is not very typical, because parents seem to enjoy it more than me, but I’m happy ave this possibility to take part…

Voice: but do you know what did they talk you to?

Girl: Of course, I was raised on this music!

Voice: this concert it is an echo of a big event, 16th international percussion festival.

Piotr Zalewski (director of the venue): there is a lot of fans who want good music, music with ambitious directions, jazz, blues, progressive rock, and our venue is focused on this type of audience.

Voice; Pat Mastelotto is self-thought drummer and taken session percusionist who participated in hundreds of concerts and recording studios. Trey Gunn begun his career with playing piano, bass, electric and acustic guitar, keybord. Despite intensive touring and collaborations with many musicians he found time to record his solo album. Both were the members of King Crimson and it’s not their first time in Poland!

    Pat Mastelotto: I love being here(…)(ok, I won’t be translating this…;))

    Trey Gunn: I don’t know(…)

Voice: There are two more concerts to be played at the Percussion Festival, then some more in Wroclaw, Bielsko Biala, Katowice and Gliwice.

Well, I don’t know if the gal seemed happy or stunned!

Looks great. I hope they swing through London.

Something crazy occurred to me: I’d love to see Fripp play with these guys! (Actually, not totally a joke: I’d like to see Fripp play with them in a non-King Crimson context.)

Thanks for posting this. I get the impression that TU are more appreciated in the EU than the US.
